In Mark 4:2 we're told that Jesus "taught them by telling many stories" (NLT). The Open Bible Stories Project is a collection of Bible stories arranged into an audio-based teaching curriculum. It is released under a Creative Commons license (see Door43:Copyrights) and is designed to be adapted and translated for use in any language and culture. The stories also include carefully-crafted questions to bring out the key points of the stories.

Each story will have both an audio version and a text version, making translation and adaptation easier. Podcast feeds of the stories in various audio formats will also be available for listening to and distributing the stories on mobile devices.

Purpose

The specific purpose: Provide the essential stories of the Bible in contemporary language, free to translate (and adapt), record, distribute and use anywhere, in any language. We are still in the design stages of the Open Bible Stories. Join us on the "Discussion" page to give your input.
